Hi, What is the safest metal out there for silverware? And does anyone know of a non-plastic (plastic particulates get into food when heated) substitute? Glass seems too fragile.
I'm concerned about metal contamination as written in some of the visionware threads. Most silverware out there says stainless steel, which has a rating: e.g. 18/10, 18/08, 18/0. The 18 is chrome content, the other number nickel. What are the health risks of these components, and what components make up 'stainless steel'in general? |

Hello, I like sterling silver, this is an old family thing. It gives a bit of silver into the food over decades, but silver doesn't do badly in the body- as the other might. Ellen |
