choosing between smooth top & coiled electric

01/03/07 		Is the trend going to smooth top electric kitchen range, with convection oven and self-cleaning now? We cannot decide on replacing our stove with the new ceramic top type or the coiled type of range? Any suggestions?

Most of the readers who have tried the cermic smooth tops don't like them- there are several threads of comments. You can get coiled electric or flat electric that are not ceramic smooth top.
