I recently found an old recipe for tea biscuits, but it reads like it's from a commerical bakery. With ingredence's like 1 qt. of eggs, 8lbs. of bread flour and so on.My question is how can I reduce this so I can try them in my kitchen, and what is 1 qt. of eggs equal to. |

Hi, Jim, 1 quart of eggs is 22-24 large eggs, and 8 pounds of bread flour is about 34 cups. This is a BIG recipe. You will probably have better luck with a recipe for tea biscuits, which are just nice little plain cookies, from a regular English cook book; it is pretty tricky to scale a baking reipe down that much. If you will email the recipe to me at my address above, I will take a look at it. Ellen |

Ellen Hi Ellen, are you by chance the same Ellen I knew on CountryLife and Beth's Bread Forum? You have a great site! Marie |
Hi Ellen 10/03/02 |
I would appreciate if you could let me know where I can find a recipe for cheese tea biscuits that can be made at home. Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks a lot, Giovanna. |
