Protecting Ceramic Cooktop
Cindy

I just purchased a new induction ceramic cooktop. The cooktop will be placed in my island in the middle of my kitchen. My currect electric cooktop has covers to go over my burners (Jenn-air). What can I place over the new ceramic cooktop to protect it. People are so used to placing items on my current cooktop that i am afraid "stuff" placed on the new stove might scratch it.

You are right to be concerned, and so far, none of my readers have come up with a good idea. One engineer suggested fiberglass cloth, such as is sold for boat hulls...

I just found this website and they will custom order. Do you think this will be ok?

Clever idea, no idea about the thing itself- it does weigh 8 pounds, which is not light- you want to figure out where to put it when you take it off.
