Hello! I am having a party for about 50 people and I am serving beef sandwiches. I am going to serve mostaccioli as a side (along with a veggie casserole dish and a chopped salad). How much pasta and sauce do I need to get? thanks for the input!

About 6 pounds, vary accordi8ng to appetite, and about 1 quart sauce per pound. 1/2 to 1 pound per pound of pasta, if you do cheese

Hi, We are making mostacioli with a meat sauce for 50 people, 30 men from a MCREST group for the homeless along with 20 volunteers both men and women. We are having a side salad and dessert. Can you please suggest an amount for the pasta and hamburger? Thank u

These are hungry folk. To allow for large portions/seconds, I would make for about 2/3 of 100, 60 people:

For generous servings of 2 cups per person, prepare:

11 pounds of dry spaghetti- each pound makes about a 9x13 pan
9 quarts of meat sauce and 4 quarts of vegetarian/meatless sauce, depending on your crowd. If you know that your group has no vegetarians, increase the meat sauce to 10 and provide only 2 quarts of vegetarian sauce as an option.
3.5 pounds of shredded Parmesan or Asiago cheese.

2 pounds of hamburger for each 3 quarts of sauce.

Good work.

Christine, if you check the spaghetti page (link at he top of the main cook talk page), you can use double the amounts in the dinner for 50-60 at the bottom of the article, or the recipe for mostaciolli for 120 on that same page.
