Chocolate for fountains

I have to bring a chocolate fountain to an event, but will not have enough time to heat and mix the choc with oil before I go. I need to know if I can heat and mix it the night before the event so all I have to do is warm it up in a microwave before I pour it in the warmed fountain at the event.
Can/should I store the mixed choc in the refrigerator or will it be ok setting out overnight? Will be approx 24 hours before the event.
Sorry, I have never successfully tried to heat, hold and reheat. You will defnitely have to try this with a small batch to see if it works. Usually, it cracks.
